How to Install Chipped Mod
Step-by-step installation for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, plus server setup.
Pick Your Platform
Every method uses the same four files: a loader, Athena, Resourceful Lib and Chipped.
Install on Windows
- Download and run the Fabric installer from fabricmc.net, or the NeoForge installer from neoforged.net.
- Select your Minecraft version (1.21.1 recommended) and click Install.
- Open the Minecraft Launcher, select the new profile and press Play once, then quit.
- Press Win + R, type
%appdata%\.minecraft\modsand press Enter. - Copy Chipped, Athena, Resourceful Lib (and Fabric API on Fabric) into the folder.
- Launch the profile and check the Mods list for Chipped.
Install on macOS
- Run the Fabric or NeoForge installer (.jar). If macOS blocks it, right-click and choose Open.
- Pick your Minecraft version and install the client profile.
- Start the profile once from the Minecraft Launcher to create folders.
- In Finder press Cmd + Shift + G and go to
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods. - Drop in Chipped, Athena and Resourceful Lib (plus Fabric API on Fabric).
- Launch and confirm the workbenches appear in creative search.
Install on Linux
- Install Prism Launcher or the official launcher from your distribution or Flathub.
- Create a new instance for 1.21.1 and choose Fabric or NeoForge.
- Open Mods and search Modrinth for Chipped; accept the dependency prompt.
- Or copy the jars manually into
~/.minecraft/mods. - Allocate at least 4 GB of RAM in instance settings.
- Launch and verify Chipped in the mod list.
Install on Android
- Install PojavLauncher from a trusted source and sign in with your Java Edition account.
- Create a Fabric 1.21.1 profile inside the launcher.
- Download Chipped, Athena, Resourceful Lib and Fabric API to your device.
- Use the launcher's file manager to place them in the profile's
modsfolder. - Lower render distance and launch.
Performance depends on your phone. Devices with 8 GB RAM or more give the best results.
Install on iOS / iPadOS
- Install Amethyst (the iOS successor to PojavLauncher) through a supported sideloading method.
- Sign in with your Java Edition account and create a Fabric 1.21.1 profile.
- Import the Chipped, Athena, Resourceful Lib and Fabric API jars via the Files app.
- Move them into the profile's
modsfolder. - Launch with a low render distance.
Sideloading rules differ by region and iOS version. Chipped itself does not support Bedrock on iPhone.

Before you start
- Minecraft Java Edition, launched at least once.
- Fabric (with Fabric API) or NeoForge for your version.
- Athena and Resourceful Lib matching your version and loader.
- A backup of any world you plan to open with mods.
Installing on a server
Chipped runs on client and server. Copy the same Chipped, Athena and Resourceful Lib jars into the server mods folder, restart, and tell players the exact versions. Mismatched versions cause registry errors on join.
Confirming it worked
Open a creative world and search for "table". You should see seven workbenches. If not, read fixing Chipped Mod crashes or the FAQ.
