DMCA Policy
How to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and how we handle notices and counter-notices.
Our commitment
Chipped Mod respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects visitors to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws in other countries.
What we host
We do not host, upload or distribute mod files. Download buttons link to official pages on GitHub, Modrinth and CurseForge. Our articles, screenshots and graphics are created by our team. If you believe any content on the Site infringes your copyright, please let us know.
How to file a DMCA notice
Send a written notice to [email protected] with the subject line "DMCA Notice". Your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
- The exact URL(s) on chippedmod.com where the material appears.
- Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
What happens next
After receiving a complete notice, we review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material, usually within 72 hours. We may contact the person who supplied the content, if any, and forward a copy of the notice. Incomplete notices may delay our response.
Counter-notice
If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice that includes:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the relevant federal court.
We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice unless the original complainant informs us that they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
Where appropriate, we will restrict access for anyone who repeatedly submits infringing material or corrections containing infringing content.
False claims
Knowingly making false statements in a notice or counter-notice may make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please consider whether the use may be permitted, for example as fair use, before submitting a notice.
